Last week, Last week, New Lease had the honor of spending the day with Ben Metcalf, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Multifamily Housing and his team from HUD. We shared best practices through a lens of assisting communities across the nation to replicate our approach to reducing homelessness. Many of our partners were present for various discussions throughout the day. Rich conversations brought to light New Lease’s successes, challenges, and growth strategies as we continue to forge our way. Thank you to everyone who participated.
Today a property manager reached out to us to express her enthusiasm for participating in the New Lease program.
“Today we moved in another New Lease family. She was very happy with the unit; it was so emotional she cried. I am honored to work with such a great program that helps families out of homelessness. This makes my job totally worthwhile.” – Participating New Lease Property Manager

New Lease is working with partners in the greater Framingham area to begin pairing homeless families to affordable homes. Our current affordable housing owners have dedicated properties in the Metro-West area, and New Lease has trained SMOC on our model. We look forward to opening up the Metro-West region and reducing family homelessness with our new partners!
Yesterday New Lease participated in a Housing/Homelessness forum to address needs of homeless families in the greater Holyoke area. Thank you Harvard Catalyst | The Harvard Clinical and Translational Science Center for facilitating important dialogue with a variety of key players.
